Goals Update, 2/21/14
Time for a little housekeeping…
I figure it’s finally time to see where I’m at with my goals since my last Goals Update. Let’s get started:
Goal: Purchase a home. (Target 8/30/12)
Status: Postponed. I have been saving diligently since August, and although I could afford a home by August, I want to have at least 10% down on a house. Also I want to have the funds to cover closing costs if needed. But I know I can do this by November 2014.
· New Target Date: November 30, 2014
Goal: Accumulate $50,000 in liquid equity in 5 years. (Target 12/31/16)
Status: In Progress. I’m 30% there between my savings and investment money. If I can just consistently profit on my investments and continue my savings, I can do it.
Goal: Graduate GSU with a 3.5 GPA or higher (Target 12/31/14)
Status: Complete! This may not have been an advertised goal, but it was something I was definitely working towards. It was amazingly difficult, but somehow I did it. What’s funny though was that I’m sure there were plenty of students who achieved that goal without much thought. But I quickly realized when I started that I could NOT compare myself to others. I achieved my goal and that’s all that matters!
Goal: Earn all A’s 3 times in my MBA program (Target 12/31/14)
Status: Complete! I’m honestly shocked I completed this! This was more of a hope and a dream for me, but my determination got me there. That just goes to show you: Aim high and dream higher!
Goal: Break 5,000 Pageviews (Target 6/30/12)
Status: Failed. Although I have over 9,000 pageviews, I was not able to complete the goal by the end of June 2012. I’m okay though. I plan on setting a new goal that I will achieve by the end of the year. Maybe… 20,000 all-time pageviews?
Goal: Read one Success or Motivational book. (Target 7/31/12)
Status: Failed. The MBA program took priority over this goal, as I never got a chance to read the book. But never fear! I’ll set a new goal after this and achieve it!
Goal: Total 50 Blog Posts.
Status: Failed. Since I was on hiatus for the past 1 ½ years, I did not meet this goal. However, just like the last one, a new goal is in order.
Now that I’ve updated my old goals, here are my new goals:
Goal: Break 20,000 pageviews
Description: This goal depends on you guys. Keep following and I can hit this one easily. Let’s make it happen!
Target Date: December 31, 2014
Goal: Read one Success or Motivational book
Description: This one should be pretty simple. I’m excited because Superhero will be my first book read for pleasure in at least 2 years.
Target Date: April 30, 2014
Goal: Total 100 posts
Description: This will definitely push me, since I need 56 more posts to go. This means 5-6 posts per month. Which means 1-2 per week. But hey, I’m committed to this thing! I feel it’s achievable, though challenging. We’ll see at the end of the year if I can do it.
Target Date: December 31, 2014
