My Toughest Challenge to Date (12/14)
I’m finally back!
I know I’ve been gone for awhile, but I have not forgotten about my blog or my followers. Success has been constantly on my mind and during the past few months I have had plenty to share about my experiences, successes, and failures. Unfortunately, school and work got the best of me, and demanded almost every ounce of free time I had. This meant I had to put all things blogging on hiatus for awhile.
Thankfully, the semester is now over. I’m now free to share with you my experiences over the past few months. Here’s a quick summary of what went down:
In late August, I started my fall semester. As you may recall, I set a goal to get all A’s this semester, something I have yet to do in my collegiate career. I was full of both confidence and nervousness, having chosen an IT Management class (my field of expertise) and an online Business Law class (no experience at all!). However, I soon learned that I was going to have to give it my all every week in order to make it to December. My IT Management class was full of assigned articles, 1-2 page summaries, team papers, and presentations. On the other hand, my Business Law class assigned lengthy chapter readings, tough team papers, multiple weekly discussion posts, and near-impossible exams.
If all http://cialishowtobuy.com/ that wasn’t enough, in September I met with my manager for the usual monthly development meeting, but this time she had something special on the agenda. The team was largely understaffed and had a ton of projects to complete to keep the client happy (how many people have been in that position?). Each team member was to now work 48-50 hours per week to prove to leadership the need for more resources. At that point, facing impossible demands in both classes and work, I threw out my goal for all A’s and set a more appropriate goal: Survive.
For the next six weeks, that was the main thing on my mind. Every week felt like a reality game show that featured inconceivable weekly challenges I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. To keep from getting overwhelmed, I could only look two weeks ahead and took it day by day. When I thought for sure I had taken on too much and a trainwreck was imminent, I had to tell myself, “Andrew, all you have to do is survive… just survive.” I just stayed the course and had the finish line in mind.
And I survived. I’m currently waiting on my grades, and although they may not be as pretty as I would have liked, I made it through a hellacious semester alive and intact. I likened the experience to long-distance running. You take it mile by mile, foot by foot, step by step. No matter how much your body yells and screams, or threatens to stop completely, you keep moving those feet. You must decide at the start who will win: Your will or your body.
I’m here today to tell you after a long, hard-fought battle, my will won!
