5 Motivational Podcasts to Help You Achieve Your Goals

Goal setting_1

I love setting goals, but they can be so darn challenging to follow through on!

The definition of goal setting is the process of identifying something that you want to accomplish and establishing measurable objectives and timeframes. It’s good to set goals as it helps you organize your time, your resources and your knowledge to improve your life.

One tool that has recently helped me to set and achieve my goals is podcasts. It will give you 15 minutes to 1 hour or more of awesome FREE content that will help you learn from others’ experiences.

What is so cool about podcasts is that you can download them and take them with you while you travel, exercise, or just while you doing things around the house.

Here are 5 podcasts that have really taken my success to a whole new level:

MWF Motivation1. MWF Motivation

In this podcast, Dean and Rob provide tips and tools to help make you a better version of yourself. They reflect on past experiences and invite guests from various walks of life in a way that inspires creativity, introspection, and focus.

One of the most powerful episodes for me was Ep. 14: Losing My Alcoholic Father. In this episode, Rob opens up about how he used the life and eventual suicide of his troubled and abusive father to transform himself into a better person. Messages like this one that really challenge me to push myself and see my current situation differently.

The Tim Ferriss Show2. The Tim Ferriss Show

Tim, who is a bestselling author, gets behind the scenes with world-class performers, finding out their personal habits and daily routines are to help us achieve success. I normally listen to these episodes during a long car ride or plane trip, as an episode can be between 1-2 hours long, but I never go without learning something amazing about successful individuals.

Although there is a ton of high quality value bombs in every episode, I highly recommend listening to his recent interview with Jamie Foxx. Jamie’s upbringing, his various comedy routines, his $400 house party that topped Diddy’s million-dollar shindig… every anecdote had you hanging on his every word. High quality stuff.

Achieve Your Goals with Hal Elrod3. Achieving Your Goals with Hal Elrod

Hal Elrod shines in this podcast hosted by Nick Palkowski, a.k.a the “podcast guru.” Hal covers a different development topic within an hour, helping listeners with everything they need to start making real progress with their goals. To do so, he uses his experiences and interviews with other influential individuals.

I loved Hal’s podcast on book writing. He took an hour with fellow author Chandler Bolt to answer many of the Miracle Morning Facebook community’s questions and really break down one of the most intimidating goals people never accomplish—writing a book.

The Art of Charm4. The Art of Charm

This podcast is hosted by AJ and Jordan Harbinger who are phenomenal at what they do. They find experts on many topics from relationships to networking to leadership to really help build your social and communication skills. They also answer questions every Friday e-mailed to them from listeners. Although this 45-60 minute podcast is geared mostly to men, ladies will find the information provided just as valuable as men will!

I’ve discussed this podcast episode at length in this post, but you should definitely take a listen to Ep. 416: Make Life Matter. It’s filled with value nuggets on how to ensure your efforts are spent on activities that will bring you the most benefit, while providing inspiration in times of personal tragedy. This episode nearly moved me to tears.

EOFire5. EOFire

Although more entreprenurial-focused, many of the lessons learned in the EOFire podcast can be used throughout your life! This daily podcast is by John Lee Dumas who is an entrepreneur and online marking strategist. Here he interviews other successful entrepreneurs. In each 30-minute episode get to know the entrepreneur, what makes them tick, their success and failures, and how they started their businesses.

Of the nearly 1,200 podcasts (he somehow puts out new content 7 days a week) it is difficult to choose the best one I’ve listened to. However, one that truly caused me to take action on my goals was Ep. 1026. In this episode, Deri Llewellyn-Davies discussed how he was miserable, broke, nearly ended it all, but the sobering thought his daughter growing up fatherless gave him new life. His inspiring comeback made me really focus on living my life to the fullest with no regrets.

These are only a few of my favorite podcasts that has helped me achieve my goals. What are your favorite motivational podcasts? Which ones inspire you to take action on your goals?
